Don’t miss our upcoming Photo TUESDAY Artist Talk by Michael Conti! Michael will be discussing his current exhibition at the IGCA – International Gallery of Contemporary Art entitled “I Protest!”
Michael Conti is a photographer and videographer living and working on the land of the Dena’ina people in Anchorage, Alaska. He is also a professor of photography at UAA. He has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Alaska, nationally and internationally for the past 20 years.
The images in “I Protest!” were made with anger and desperation and anxiety and hope, from both subject and photographer. It is record of expressions of dissent and peaceful protest by people across cultures and borders and classes and genders, in word and deed, individuals and groups, in both public and private.
