Don’t miss Joyce Tenneson’s lecture in the Anchorage Museum at Rasmuson Center Auditorium on July 24th at 7pm. Joyce, Rarefied Light 2014‘s juror, will be presenting “A Life in Photography.” This will be a unique opportunity to see work from Joyce Tenneson’s 40 year career in photography. She will show images from her retrospective book titled “A Life in Photography” as well as give insight to her multi-faceted career as one of the top portrait photographers working today. She will also show a behind the scenes Powerpoint showing some of her assignment work and never before seen 20×24 inch Polaroids. In addition, Tenneson will show for the first time her innovative, exciting new work using mixed media and gold leaf.
Ms. Tenneson is the author of fifteen books. She is the recipient of numerous awards, including the International Center of Photography’s Infinity Award, for best applied photography, and the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Professional Photographers of America. In addition, she has been named “Photographer of the Year” by the international organization, Women in Photography. A recent poll conducted by American Photo Magazine voted Tenneson among the ten most influential women photographers in the history of photography. Joyce lives and works in Rockport, Maine.
