Finding My Perspective
Alaska-based photographer, filmmaker, and aerial artist Toby Harriman shares the unconventional creative path that eventually led him to find his niche in aerial photography and build a career around seeing the world from a different perspective.
Long before photography became his career, Toby was driven by making things. Art classes and ceramics eventually gave way to design, web development, photography, long exposures, timelapse, filmmaking, and an early embrace of social media as a way to share his work and connect with a growing creative community.
Along the way, Toby was never afraid to invest in himself, pursue an idea before knowing where it might lead, or take a chance that could fail. Some did. Others opened doors he never could have predicted. That willingness to experiment, fail, adapt, and keep creating ultimately helped turn personal projects and curiosity into a career spanning fine art, filmmaking, documentary work, commercial productions, expeditions, and aerial photography around the world.
Through photographs, films, behind-the-scenes stories, successes, failures, and a few questionable decisions along the way, Toby will trace the evolution of his work and the experiences that helped him find his perspective, both creatively and literally.
