Please join us late this month for an artist talk by Schuyler Alig @schuyleralig via zoom and at Anchorage’s The Stoop, a new center designed to inspire, educate & equip lens-based artists, located at 301 E Fireweed.
Schuyler Alig is a photographer and videographer based in Alaska. Born in Philadelphia, her work in film brought her to Alaska—where she stayed, centering the vast landscapes in her life and creative practice. She finds comfort in the ubiquitous presence of nature, however extraordinary. Her work explores the sensations of nature and the relationships we share with it, using the camera as a means of pathfinding and discovery. She draws inspiration from the polarities around us, finding beauty in nature’s exuberance, calm, chaos, and everything in between.
Her work has been featured in Alaska Magazine, Vogue Thailand, Philadelphia Magazine, the Denali Film Festival, and the Green Point Film Festival.
Join us in-person or via the Zoom link in the bio on October 21st at 7pm!
