We are deeply saddened by the passing of Bob Hallinen. While many knew him for his remarkable 33-year career, those who knew Bob understood that photography was far more than his profession – it was the passion that shaped his life and inspired his work.
Bob was the recipient of many well-deserved honors, including a Pulitzer Prize. He was a long-time member of APC, and his images were often accepted into Rarefied Light. His photograph Ravens won Best of Show in 2021. He also gave generously of his time, sharing his knowledge and photographs through our lecture series, where his presence was always warmly welcomed.
Bob was curious, kind, engaging, and full of life. He had a gift of not only capturing the world through his lens, but for connecting with the people around him. We will remember him with gratitude and affection, and we will miss him dearly.
