The Rarefied Light 2018 exhibition will kick off with an opening reception at the Anchorage Museum on September 28th from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
Rarefied Light is Alaska’s largest annual fine art photography exhibition. This year we received 610 entries by 91 artists. Guest juror Arthur Meyerson, selected 50 photographs by 34 artists for inclusion in this year’s exhibition.
Best of Show is awarded to Douglas Yates, Ester, for the print“Road Trip”.
Last year’s holiday party and print exchange was a huge hit – so we’re bringing it back for a second year!
This will be a potluck style gathering, and we would love for all attendees to bring a wrapped (or envelope enclosed) 8×8 or 8×10 print for a blind an exchange. No mounting/matting or framing required! But do ensure that your name and print title are included with the print! We are excited about this opportunity for members and artists to share their work with each other in a tangible way!
Photojournalism. What does that mean? How is it the same and how is it different from other forms of photography?
